Jesse Witt

esse Howard Witt, principal of The Witt Law Firm, practices in the areas of appeals, construction law, intellectual property, business law, and general civil litigation. He completed his juris doctorate at the University of Denver, where he was an editor of the Transportation Law Journal and an attorney in the Student Law Office, the oldest academic legal aid clinic in the United States. Mr. Witt also holds a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics from the University of California at Berkeley, and he studied in the astronomy department of the Università degli Studi di Padova near Venice, Italy. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. Frank Martinez in Denver, and he is admitted to appear before all state courts in Colorado, California, and New Mexico,* in the United States District Courts for the Districts of (read more)Colorado and Northern California, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Mr. Witt is a member of the American, Colorado, and Boulder County Bar Associations, and of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. He serves on the amicus curiae committee of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and has served on the legislative action committee for the Rocky Mountain and Southern Colorado chapters of the Community Associations Institute. He has testified in Colorado State Assembly and has given presentations on Colorado construction law, legal ethics, and other topics. He is one of just seven attorneys in the United States to be a member of the Associazione Internazionale Giuristi di Lingua Italiana, the International Association of Italian Language Lawyers. Mr. Witt is a frequent author, and his article The Spearin Doctrine and the Economic Loss Rule in Residential Construction was selected for inclusion in the 2007 Legal Handbook for Architects, Engineers, and Contractors.

Before and during law school, Mr. Witt supervised excavation crews as a union grade setter on various residential and commercial developments. Mr. Witt grew up in Crockett, California, a small suburb of San Francisco known as the home of the world’s largest sugar cane refinery and—more recently—of the pop-punk band Green Day.

In 2018, Mr. Witt became of counsel to Frascona, Joiner, Goodman & Greenstein.
